Keith Morris’ new punk band OFF! is just like the best of the old school punk rock groups. They’re ferociously raw, entertaining and brief. Punchy, aggressive and warmly inviting, Morris seves as the perfect ringmaster for this four-piece. Bemoaning bands that “suck” one minute and giving hearfelt eulogies the next, Morris is the rare frontman who seems on his own planet, yet still a paragon of his genre’s ethos. It’s inspiring to see a band including legitimate founders of early punk still bringing the kind of vitality the genre desperately needs and often seems to have lost.
OFF! Live at the SPIN Party at Stubb’s SXSW
