Arcade Fire recently announced plans to travel to Haiti for a series of performances that will also be documented for an upcoming film featuring all live footage.
The trip to and performances at Haiti will be documented by UK photographer/filmmaker Leah Gordon for an upcoming Live From Haiti DVD, which is expected to release later in the year.
The band’s significance to traveling to Haiti is not only for music and charitable purposes, but also has a sentimental, personal value. Founding member Régine Chassagne comes from Haitian descent, and in 2010, Arcade Fire helped to raise a million dollars after a devastating earthquake struck the country.
