Mister Heavenly, a supergroup of sorts featuring Nick Diamonds (Islands/Unicorns), Honus Honus (Man Man), Joe Plummer (Modest Mouse) and none other than actor Michael Cera on bass somewhat inoccuously appeared on lineups for SXSW this year. Somewhat hard to pin down, the group encapsulates the quirky alt rock of Diamonds’ bands and the madcap doo wop of Honus’ band. Occasionally a bit alt country, but energetic enough to catch your attention, it’s an intriguing combination and an auspicious beginning.
