Fleet Foxes Announce New Album Helplessness Blues, Tour Dates

Fleet Foxes put out one of the best and most refreshing albums of 2008, and after somewhat long wait, the group is back with Helplessness Blues, scheduled for a May 3 release on Sub Pop/Bella Union.

Recorded over a year at Avast Recording, Bear Creek Studios, Dreamland Studios, and Reciprocal Recording, Helplessness Blues is the band’s second album, following 2008’s eponymous effort. The 12-track LP was mixed by Phil Ek and co-produced by Phil Ek and Fleet Foxes. The piece that appears on the album cover (which appears above) was illustrated by Seattle artist Toby Liebowitz and painted by Chris Alderson.

The group has released the title track from the album for your listening pleasure. Check out “Helplessness Blues” below!

In addition, the band will embark on its first tour since November of 2009, hitting Canada and the U.S. in April and May before heading over to Europe for a brief jaunt.
