New Album From Dropkick Murphys And St. Patricks Day Tour

It’s been four years since we’ve heard new music from our favorite Celtic punkers, the Dropkick Murphys.  They’re making strong return to the music scene, however, with their upcoming album, Going Out In Style, which makes its debut March 1.  A few days before the release, on February 27, the guys venture off for their traditional St. Patricks Day US Tour.  Check out album info and tour dates after the jump.
Going Out Of Style features new music with their traditional punk rock blend of Irish energy and melody while maintaining a hardcore style.  The instruments speak as loud as the lyrical story being told in a series of 13 songs, one of which features one of America’s favorite voices, Bruce Springsteen.  The Dropkick Murphys often find musical inspiration from integrating their personal experiences with fantasy-like fictional stories that you soon feel you’re a part of once you’ve been jamming to the song for long enough.  Going Out Of Style showcases their style through the story of the trials and tribulations of fictional Cornelius Larkin, a determined and strong-willed Irish immigrant.  Interestingly enough, the fictional story is guided by accurate historic or personal details.  The story unravels as the album progresses.

Al Barr, lead singer of the Murphys, speaks on behalf of the group with excitement and high hopes for their upcoming album.

“I hope fans can listen to Going Out In Style with the same excitement we have. It’s all about family and friends for us. No bullshit…we don’t like to convolute things. That translates to the music, and the fans appreciate it.  It’s a beautiful thing, and I can’t wait to introduce Cornelius Larkin to the world.”
