The Endtables Reunite for First Show in 30 Years at SXSW

The odd, psychedelic punk rock four-piece from Kentucky were a nationwide sensation decades ago.  Since then, we’ve only heard their reissued music and only had distant memories of their hyper, exciting shows they played.  For the first time in 30 years, the boys are reuniting for one of the country’s biggest music festivals of the year; SXSW 2011, held in Austin, Texas.

Beginning the second week of March 2011, Austin transforms into America’s best film and music headquarters for nine full days.  Dozens of stages shuffle all kinds of musical performances all day and night, in accompany to multiple film screenings, guest speakers, and a variety of additional entertainment that satisfies all tastes.

On SXSW’s website, you’ll be able to access a full list of the 2011 festival’s line-up, or at least those already confirmed to play.  The list is so long, it’s organized in alphabetical order, with a full page dedicated to each letter.

One of their latest additions to the massive line-up is The Endtables, a strange, but loved punk rock band from the 70s.  We haven’t heard much since them, other than re-released music in 2010.  The band’s making its 21st century debut for the first time in 1979 at no other than one of the nation’s most loved music festivals, SXSW.

Stay tuned with the latest on the festival, including ticket info and line-up details on SXSW’s website.
