King Diamond recently underwent triple bypass open heart surgery after being hospitalized. The surgery took about 7 hours, and it took place after it was determined that his arteries were dangerously blocked.
He was taken to the ICU for recovery, eating solid foods and walking just two days after the operation. He was able to return home ten days after his initial hospitalization, though it will take a few months to return to normalcy.
According to his wife Livia in an update through his website, he is eternally grateful to the staff at Centennial Medical Center.
He will be taking a break from the music business until further notice, but plans to resume when his health is fully restored.
