Against Me! Slam Warner Brothers

Against Me! have criticized their former label Warner Brothers after deciding not to sign with them this year.  The band has claimed that the label has made “serious mistakes” in promoting them.  More info after the jump.

Frontman Tom Gabel began bashing the old label by saying the band had released their last two albums on Warner imprint Sire, but that label passed on keeping them.  In the Rocksound interview, Gabel went on to say Warner US (not UK) was undergoing massive restructuring saying, “They’re just making massive cuts, and a lot of the people who are unfortunately losing their jobs are kind of our team at the record label who we’ve worked with on the past couple of records.”  When coupled with Warner Brothers releasing an unfinished version of “I Was a Teenage Anarchist” to Canadian radio stations, Gabel certainly had a lot to say about the band’s former label.

In other news, Against Me! has parted ways with drummer George Rebelo who has returned to his old band Hot Water Music.  His son is Jay Weinberg, son of Bruice Springsteen’s drummer Max Weinberg.
