Kanye West’s newest epic, My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy, hit the top of the Billboard 200 during the week of its release, according to MTV.
Listeners bought up 495,000 copies of ‘Ye’s fifth release since it hit store shelves on Tuesday, November 22. His last album, 808s & Heartbreak, managed to move a slightly smaller amount of copies—450,145— during its week of release in November 2008.
Despite its high selling power, MBDTF actually moved far fewer copies than West’s sophomore and junior releases, Late Registration (2005, 850,000 copies sold) and Graduation (2007, 957,000 copies).
