Once known for his manic prolificness, Ryan Adams seems to have adopted more reasonable release schedule for his material the past couple years. That will quickly change with the upcoming release of “double length opus” III/IV, out December 14th on Pax Am.
The only thing more impressive than Adams’ songwriting in the early and mid 2000’s was the pace at which he operated, releasing five albums in a three year span from 2003 to 2005.
But III/IV will be Adams’ first official release since 2008’s Easy Tiger. Coincidentally the material on III/IV comes from the same sessions as Easy Tiger, an epic six-month recording session at New York’s Electric Lady studio that yielded 60 songs.
Having forgotten about the double album in the wake of recording 2008’s Cardinoloy, this will be the first time the album will be released officially. The album will be available in limited red and blue vinyl (including download code), limited CD, and infinite digital versions.
