Fever Ray‘s Swedish electronic musician Karin Dreijer Andersson will be featured on the creepy, gloomy soundtrack for the upcoming film Red Riding Hood, directed by Twilight’s Catherine Hardwicke.
Not only is Fever Ray’s music in the movie, which can be sampled in the trailer below, but Dreijer Andersson herself will also be featured in the film, sporting a spooky harvest mask. In a recent LA Times interview, Hardwicke comments on her interest in Fever Ray and Andersson:
“We commissioned this band from Sweden called Fever Ray. She’s always performing in radical costumes, she’s like the Lady Gaga of Sweden. In our movie she’s wearing a harvest mask with a corn husk face and she’s singing and everybody’s dancing and singing. Of course it all goes to hell soon enough but it’s fun for a while.”
Starring Amanda Seyfried, Red Riding Hood takes place in the gloomy medieval times, where a dark village becomes haunted by a werewolf. The film is set for release in 2011.
