Kid Cudi Is “Over Rapping”, And Is Moving On To The Rock Scene

Yes, you heard right.  Instead of spitting rhymes, Kid Cudi has since picked up a guitar and found a new love in music.  He’s starting a new project; a band called Wizard.

In an exclusive interview with MTV, Kid Cudi elaborates on his reasoning for making changes in his career as a musician.

In simple terms, Kid Cudi explains:

“I don’t get any fulfillment out of it anymore. I don’t get fulfillment out of writing a 16. That’s why you don’t ever hear me on Kanye joints like that. For two reasons: he’s dope and I’m just not gonna be rapping on ‘Ye records and getting bodied all the time. I’m more passionate when he’s like, ‘yo Cudi, come up with a hook.’ Cause he asks me to put verses down but I’ll try to procrastinate or disappear or something. I just really get more fulfillment out of singing now. I’m teaching myself the guitar, that’s my new found love. I never thought that I could play an instrument. Picked it up, surprised myself. It’s been two and a half months, I’m already starting my next project. It’s a rock album, I’m doing a band with [producer] Dot [da Genius] called Wizard.”

Although surprising, rock music isn’t within far reach of Kid Cudi.  Especially in his upcoming album, Man on the Moon II: The Legend of Mr. Rager, sounds of rock-pop dominate his freshly revamped musical style, while still keeping his familiar flow of lyrics incorporated into his songs.

While some believe Kid Cudi denotes the epitome of modern hip-hop, we must have full faith in Kid Cudi and his new, altered focus in the musical world.  To stay posted with Kid Cudi’s transformation as a musician, keep up with the latest Kid Cudi news here.
