Some fans thought that the likelihood of Guided By Voices playing a second show in NYC was slim to none, causing fans to lose hope. The only show in the tour announced to take place in NYC was sold out (November 7 at Terminal 5), and some thought they were doomed. Four months later, however, and there is hope, alas! Guided By Voices is very pleased to add on a second NYC show to take place December 31 at Irving Plaza. Tickets in the Big Apple obviously go fast, so purchase ’em while you can — tickets go on sale November 6th and are $72 in advance, $75 at the door.
If you happen to be mingling around the NYC area on the last day of the year for reasons other than seeing GBV, not only are you crazy, but you’ll have the chance to see other great artists perform live — Passion Pit (Webster Hall), Phish (Madison Square Garden), and The Roots (Brooklyn Bowl), just to name a few. Whatever you choose to do or whoever you choose to see, NYC is definitely the place to be to bring in this new year.
