In a recent interview with BBC Radio 1’s Zane Lowe, Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl shared his band’s upcoming tour and album plans. The Foo Fighters are set to play Milton Keynes July 2 & 3, 2011 with a host of big-time acts. In regards to the band’s upcoming album, Grohl described it as the band’s “heaviest work to date.” More after the jump.
The Foo Fighters Milton Keynes dates will feature Scottish alt-rock group Biffy Clyro on both nights. Joining the Foo Fighters on July 2 are Death Cab for Cutie and Tame Impala. Jimmy Eat World and Hot Rats will support the band on July 3.
The Foo Fighters have also been hanging around big-time stars in the studio. Both former Hüsker Dü frontman Bob Mould and former Nirvana bassist Krist Novoselic have been confirmed as collaborators on the band’s upcoming, as-yet-untitled seventh studio album. Thus far, the band has completed seven tracks with producer Butch Vig, and are continuing to document the entire recording process in preparation for an upcoming documentary film.
