Wire Announces New Album Due Out in January

Old school British punk outfit Wire have announced their next album, Red Barked Tree, due out January 10 and being released by the band’s own Pink Flag Records.  You can download free mp3 of “Two Minutes” here.

Wire gained worldwide recognition as one of the preeminent bands of the first wave of punk with classic albums such Pink Flag, Chairs Missing, and 154 back in the late 1970s.  They’ve broken up and gotten back together too many times to count, always getting back to the studio at least a couple times during each reunion.  All the original members minus guitarist Bruce Gilbert are present on the album with no guests or session musicians.  Here’s the track list:
