It was announced in an interview with Gigwise that plans for new Goodie Mob album featuring Cee Lo have been made definite. “The reunion is set in stone,” he said. “I’m almost done with [The Lady Killer], turning it in formally, and we will resume shortly thereafter finishing the Goodie Mob album.”
When asked about his changing relationship with former crew, he commented, “It’s definitely changed, but for the better. We’ve grown. They were always my big brothers so, now, we can look each other in the eye.”
The Atlanta-based group, established in 1995, consists of Cee Lo, Khujo, T-Mo, and Big Gipp. They released two albums after Cee Lo’s departure in 2002, One Monkey Don’t Stop No Show, in 2004, and Livin’ Life as Lumberjacks in 2005.
He described the reunion as “Fateful,” and went on to remark that it felt like destiny. He also mentioned that he planned to continue working with Danger Mouse again. The interview can be seen here.
