Cake Announce Release of First Album in Seven Years

Cake has announced that they will release their first album in seven years on Jan. 11, 2011. The new album, Showroom of Compassion, is the band’s sixth studio album and will be released on the band’s own Upbeat Records. More after the jump.

Showroom of Compassion is a true DIY project. In addition to releasing the album on their own label, the band also produced and engineered the album at their own solar-powered studio in Sacremento, Calif.
