If you were like me you’ve probably been wondering what happened to the darlings of modern alternative rock. Have no fear, Radiohead has just finished with a brand new set of songs for their new album, according to bassist Colin Greenwood, who just published an essay for the Index on Censorship, a UK organization. He says in the essay that they “have just finished another group of songs, and have begun to wonder about how to release them in a digital landscape that has changed again.” Apparently they haven’t decided yet how and when the new album should be released given all the latest trends in music and social media and the “digital landscape” of today: Twitter, foursquare, and iPads are all directly addressed as markers of a new era of digital communication and cultural/information transparency. We’ll have to wait and see, but it’ll most certainly be worth a few more months for another classic album to hit the shelves (or hard drives).
