Bob Dylan to Try New Ticket Selling Model This Wednesday

Bob Dylan – who’s done one or two important things in his rock ‘n’ roll lifetime – now has his sights set on fixing the concert ticket industry, and he’ll give it a try this Wednesday in San Francisco.

For his concert on August 25th at the Warfield in San Francisco, the venue will sell $60 general admission tickets for cash only the day of the show – eliminating surcharges, credit card fees and the threat of scalping.

Concertgoers can’t line up before noon, doors open at 5:30 p.m., and everyone must have entered by the time the show starts at 8 p.m.

The event will be watched closely by those in the struggling concert industry to see if the model could be applied elsewhere.
