The Dears to Play Residencies, Perform Upcoming Album in Full

Canadian indie rockers The Dears will be playing their upcoming full length in its entirety at their upcoming residency gigs in Montreal, Toronto and Brooklyn.  The as-yet-unnamed album, which is slated for an early 2011 release, features Patrick Krief and Rob Benvie—two former guitarists of the band—and ex-bassist Roberto Arquilla.

In addition to playing their upcoming in its entirety, The Dears will be donating all of the proceeds from their merch sales to Montreal City Mission and War Child, an organization that benefits children who have been disenfranchised by world conflicts.

“Some of the items are rare, might be the wrong size, while some things are out of print and may be sold at ridiculous prices. But this is not just about raising money. People hurt everywhere, all the time, and in so many ways. Essentially, this is what we sing about and sometimes singing just ain’t enough. By taking some of this stuff off our hands, hopefully folks will remember who they’re helping and why,” read a statement put out by the band.
