David Byrne Adds Tracks To New Wall Street Movie, Collaborates On Lincoln Center Performance

David Byrne has been keeping busy as of late. Nine of his songs will be featured in the sountrack to Oliver Stone’s upcoming Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps. He is also collaborating with multi-instrumentalist St. Vincent and Bang on Can’s Asphalt Orchestra on an upcoming performance at Lincoln Center. Click “read more” for more info.

The Wall Street soundtrack will include seven songs from his 2008 collaboration with Brian Eno, Everything That Happens Will Happen Today, as well as two others. For those of you not willing to sit through an Oliver Stone movie just for the music, the soundtrack will be released Sept. 21 on Todomundo Records.

For the Lincoln Center performance, Byrne and St. Vincent will be composing a piece for the Asphalt Orchestra, a 12-piece marching band known for playing compositions by artists ranging from Bjork to Charles Mingus. The currently untitled piece will premier at the Lincoln Center on August 4. Stay posted for ticket information.
