Queens of the Stone Age Announce Benefit Concert, Tour

In a touching bit of friendship and charity, Josh Homme and the Queens of the Stone Age are playing benefit concert to raise money for friend (and Josh Homme’s bandmate in the Eagles of Death Metal), Brian O’Connor who was recently diagnosed with cancer.  O’Connor, diagnosed in June, doesn’t have the medical insurance needed to pay his bills, necessitating alternate sources of funds for his treatment (i.e., benefit concerts). This is happening alongside a series of benefit concerts by Them Crooked Vultures, the rock supergroup of Josh Homme, Dave Grohl and John Paul Jones.  Meanwhile, The Dead Weather/Queens of the Stone Age’s Dean Fertita is stepping in on bass for the remainder of Eagles of Death Metal’s planned shows.

Furthermore, Queens of the Stone Age are planning a series of concerts in Europe throughout August.
