Portishead Tease Release Of New Album, Sign To Unannounced Major Label

It took trip-hop band Portishead 10 years to finally put out their third album, conveniently titled Third, in 2008. It doesn’t appear that fans will have to wait nearly that long for a fourth album, however – the band is apparently already hard at work on it.

In an interview with BBC Radio, Geoff Barrow makes mention that the band has recently signed to a major label and is making moves on a fourth LP. No word yet on what label or a release date, but it appears the band won’t be losing any creative freedom. “It’s with people that we really trust,” Barrow said. “They’ve said that we could do what we want.”
