Electric Daisy Carnival 2010 – Day 1 [Photos: Deadmau5, BT, Moby, Kaskade, Swedish House Mafia, Dirty South, Basement Jaxx, Spank Rock and more]

Music, dance, love, and a whole lotta’ fun–this was definitely the mantra for this year’s annual Electric Daisy Carnival. With over 185,000 people spread over two days, Electric Daisy Carnival (sometimes referred to as simply EDC) is undeniably one of America’s biggest dance festivals. This year’s “massive” event was even bigger than last year with the addition of another big stage. This year’s event was like Monster Massive ’09 and EDC ’09 combined into one. The festival, as usual, was full of colorfully dressed candy kids and even included a bigger assortment of carnival rides. While Insomniac (the promoter for the festival) upped their game in terms of the venue and security, so did the festival goers. There were kids attempting to break in by jumping over the fences to get into the carnival ultimately chased away by cops as well as kids so determined to get onto the Kinetic Field that they risked injuring themselves by jumping over fences from the surrounding bleachers. Those bleachers were barricaded off this year to limit the amount of people on the grounds.
