Bright Eyes Anti-Arizona Song Due

In addition to being a form of expression, music can also make a difference. The Sound Strike is a group of artists boycotting Arizona after it passed the SB 1070 bill giving the police power to detain people suspected of being in the country illegally. Zach De La Rocha of Rage Against the Machine helped put the Sound Strike together, and other notable acts include Kanye West, Sonic Youth, and Conor Oberst.

Oberst has announced the recording of a new track, “Coyote Song”, for the Sound Strike – which will be credited to Bright Eyes. In a video announcement, which you can watch below, Oberst explains the meaning behind the lyrics and his feelings on the bill.
