Hangout Fest to Donate All Profits to Gulf Cleanup

Organizers of the Hangout Beach Music and Arts Festival, which runs from May 14-16, announced recently via press release that they will be donating all of the profits from the event to organizations that are involved with cleaning up the recent British Petroleum (BP) oil leak in the Gulf of Mexico.

Organizers of the event joined forces with Stephen Rehage, a New Orleans-area concert promoter, in order to create the two-city charity event.  One event is being held in New Orleans, La, and the other is being held in Gulf Shores, Al.  The proceeds of both events will be donated regional charities.

According to the press release, artists playing the events include the likes of John Legend, Zac Brown Band, Gov’t Mule, the Roots, Matisyahu, the Black Crowes and Jakob Dylan.

More information about the festival can be found on the event’s Facebook page.
