According to Paste Magazine, the popular online music-streaming site Lala will be shutting its doors on May 31, roughly one year after it was purchased by Apple. Today marks an end to the site’s acceptance of new users and content.
Users can no longer purchase web songs or gift cards and users with any funds left in their Lala “wallets” will have until the aforementioned closing date to purchase and download songs. Any money left over will be refunded to individual users via an iTunes gift card. Users can also request a check for the amount if they do not want to purchase songs on iTunes.
Users who have recently purchased web songs will be refunded the money that they spent on the tracks.
Refunds will be given out by June 14.
