Stax Records will release Otis Redding’s Live On The Sunset Strip on May 18 via Concord Music Group. The 2-CD box set is a series of 1966 recordings at the legendary Whisky A Go Go in Los Angeles. The album will feature some of Redding’s best work such as “Respect”, “Security”, “These Arms of Mine” and “Satisfaction,” to name a few.
Live On The Sunset Strip covers three live sets and includes a booklet with rare photos and liner notes with commentary by NPR Morning Edition‘s Ashley Kahn. The album also features spoken intro’s by the late Otis Redding himself that are said to be definitive.
