UK rock band Blur has recently recorded new material, and is planning to release a new single as part of Record Store Day. According to Billboard, Blur’s EMI label Parlophone, and its imprint Regal will be releasing 1,000 copies of the 7-inch special vinyl to 150 independent U.K. retailers, taking part in the international event.
“We want independent record store to continue, they’re an important part of our musical culture,” frontman Damon Albarn told the Sun. The release of Blur’s new highly-anticipated single will be their first since 2003. A release date will be announced in the coming weeks.
