With a blitzkrieg of riff and drums of endless thunder, High on Fire crushed the crowd at Mohawk from note one. Matt Pike’s smoky growl was reminiscent of a viking waiting for war, and was melded with the accompanied rush of volume akin to rolling boulders. There were several tracks from the stunning new album Snakes for the Devine included in the set which made a perfect soundtrack to the furiously whipping pit.
