Bruce Roehrs (1950-2010), a long-running columnist at Maximum Rock’n’Roll, passed away in his home on Thursday. Roehrs dedicated his life to punk rock as a columnist at MRR, reviewing bands and events for most of his adult life. He has been called the “the grand patriarch of bay area skinheads” and over the course of his he career secured his position as a punk rock journalism legend.
MRR released a statement regarding Roehrs’ death:
“Bruce Roehrs passed away peacefully in his home. There will be a memorial. As soon as we know more we will let you know. We will miss him and can hardly imagine MRR without him. Play Agnostic Front “Victim in Pain” as loud as you can — and see you fucks at the bar.”
