Local Natives – Emo’s

Hot on the heels of last year’s stellar release Gorilla Manor, Local Natives proved at Emo’s just how talented they are. Even while decidedly an indie sound, the band sings passionately, uses 2nd and 3rd backing drums and excellently sings in four-part harmony. They bring songs to a proper boil when necessary, and aren’t afraid to let nearly every instrument drop out to let a single voice ring. Finally, an indie band that lives up to the hype.

Raymond Flotat: Editor-in-Chief / Founder mxdwn.com || Raymond Flotat founded mxdwn.com in 2001 while attending University of the Arts in Philadelphia while pursuing a B.F.A. in Multimedia. Over his career he has worked in variety of roles at companies such as PriceGrabber.com and Ticketmaster. He has written literally hundreds of pieces of entertainment journalism throughout his career. He has also spoken at the annual SXSW Music and Arts Festival.
