New York indie rockers The Walkmen announced yesterday that they will begin working on the follow-up album to 2008’s You & Me. The boys spent large portion of 2009 on tour and have decided to head back to the studio. The new LP will be recorded and mixed by You & Me engineer Chris Zane, and will be released on Oxford, Mississippi’s Fat Possum Records. The Walkmen will also play the opening of the Armory Show art fair at the Museum of Modern Art on March 3, followed by an appearance in Austin for NPR’s SXSW showcase at Stubb’s with Spoon on March 17.
