Bad Lieutenant’s U.S. Concert Debut + Coachella

Bad Lieutenant, New Order’s Bernard Sumner’s project formed in 2007, has been added to the 2010 Coachella line-up for Saturday, April 17.  With three additional American dates, this is Bad Lieutenant‘s U.S. debut.  Sumner (guitar, vocals), along with Phil Cunningham (guitar) and Jake Evans (guitar, vocals) are touring in support of their first album, Never Cry Another Tear, which was released in October through Original Signal Recordings.  Acc0mpanied by former Joy Division/New Order drummer Stephen Morris (who also played on Never Cry Another Tear) and bassist Tom Chapman, Bad Lieutenant is coming to America to play their re-scheduled Chicago and New York dates after issues with their visas in November of last year.

“We are really looking forward to playing our songs live for our fans in the U.S.,” said Sumner. “It’s been some quite time since I have played in America, and we are all very excited about the prospect.  The bulk of the set will be Bad Lieutenant songs, but we’ll also play some songs from my past, some New Order songs, some Joy Division, and a few other surprises.”

Bad Lieutenant’s latest single, “Twist of Fate” will be released digitally March 23.  The single “Dynamo” is available for free download on Bad Lieutenant’s website.
