Last night, Alicia Keys made an appearance on The Colbert Report and teamed up with Stephen Colbert himself to perform “Empire State of Mind,” which Keys’ originally recorded with Jay-Z. That means that Colbert rapped in Jay-Z’s absence. During the interview segment with Keys, he pointed out how the original version of the song celebrates all five boroughs of New York City. In the Colbert version, he shouts out the Connecticut suburbs. Take a look at a video of the performance below!
