The Oklahoma City based rock band, The Flaming Lips made a special appearance at the Ricardo Montalbán Theater in Hollywood Thursday night in promotion for their new release, Embryonic. The band not only performed songs from their new album (“Convinced of the Hex,” “See the Leaves” and “I Can Be A Frog”) but also pleased the crowd with hits from their catalog.
In a Q&A session on Twitter, The Flaming Lips made several announcments such as a full length cover of Pink Floyd’s masterpiece Dark Side of The Moon has been completed featuring special guests like Henry Rollins and Peaches as well as unveiled plans for a few Soft Bulletin-based shows. They most likely won’t perform Embryonic in it’s entirety on tour because of its length. However, when asked how they keep things fresh after 20 years, Wayne Coyne lovingly stated, “We’re lucky that we’re free to do whatever the fuck we want.”
