Philadelphia native and celebrity disc jockey DJ AM, 36, was found dead Friday evening in his Manhattan apartment according to the Associated Press. Paramedics had to break down the door to DJ AM’s apartment at 5:20 PM in which officers told the press there was drug parahernalia found.
DJ AM whose real name was Adam Goldstein, was a deejay who performed at Hollywood’s most exclusive parties and was admired by music aficionados. He also was famous for past relationships with the reality TV star Nicole Richie, the daughter of singer Lionel Richie, and with actress/singer Mandy Moore.
Goldstein died nearly a year after surviving a South Carolina plane crash that killed four people and seriously injured Travis Barker of Blink 182.
