There’s still a month and a half (give or take) till the release of Yo La Tengo’s forthcoming Popular Songs. For those who can’t wait, there’s slew of reasons to participate in Matador’s Buy Early Get Now Program.
According to Matablog, the program marries the ability to pre-order online with the subtle thrill of going to the record store. Participate in BEGN and on when Popular Songs is released on September 8, your very own copy will be waiting for you at your local record store as long as it is friend to the BEGN program. On August 4th, participants will also be made privy to a 128K audio stream of the album in its entirety with bonus mp3s to follow as well as receive a vinyl copy of Yo La Tengo’s soundtrack to Adventureland and a poster.
While the full track list hasn’t been made available yet, the album cover is probably one of the best in 2009 so far and worth the price of admission on its own.
