SPIN’s July issue is celebrating the 25th anniversary of Prince’s Purple Rain album and film. In addition to a complete history of both works, the issue will include a free downloadable tribute mini album featuring nine bands covering Purple Rain’s classic tracks.
While an Apollonia and Greg Dulli’s The Twighlight Singers’ duet is currently streaming here, the entire album will be available (for free) with the help of a clue from the article.
Unlike previous attempts at Prince cover albums, SPIN got clearance from Prince himself, so don’t worry, Purplish Rain has Prince’s stamp of approval.
