Keep An Eye On The Sky for Big Star

Rhino Records has announced the release of four discs of unreleased demos, alternate takes, rarities, and live cuts from past recording sessions of Big Star. The box set, Keep An Eye On the Sky will be out September 15, 2009.

With a total of 98 songs from #1 Record, Radio City, and Third/Sister Lover, in addition to works from Rock City and Icewater, groups from before the formation of Big Star, and solo work from Alex Chilton and Chris Bell.

Keep An Eye On The Sky’s release is concurrent with the film reportedly in the works based on Big Star: The Story of Rock’s Forgotten Band, the biography of Rob Jovanovic.http://www.billboard.com/bbcom/news/big-star-reaches-for-sky-with-box-set-1003980482.story
