For all the plaudits and historical accolades that R.E.M.’s debut, Murmur, has received since its unveiling in 1983, their sophomore album, Reckoning, is equally deserving of some love. With this in mind, the band will give it the double-disc, red carpet reissue treatment as they did for their debut.
Disc 1 will feature the remastered album and the supplemental disc will contain a previously unreleased concert recorded during the Little America Tour at Chicago’s Aragon Ballroom in 1984. The concert setlist featured 8 of Reckoning‘s 10 songs, a few cuts from Murmur and songs like “Driver 8” and “Hyena” that had yet to be put to tape at that point.
In conjunction with this reissue, Reckoning and R.E.M.’s debut Murmur will also hit shelves in high quality, 180-gram vinyl.
