Coachella 2009 – M.I.A.

Coming off a catastrophic performance last year in the Sahara tent, M.I.A., freshly back post-pregnancy this year took to the main stage. Was it better than last years disastrous show? A little, but not by much. Once again over using a sample throughout the duration of the show–this time, an over accentuated horn blast–her songs blurred into redundancy, and her stage demeanor felt uninspired. By the time hits “Galang” and “Paper Planes” happened the energy was zapped from the air.
