Coachella 2009 – Liars

At a time far too early for their brand of Suicide-esque drone rock, Liars took to the Outdoor Theatre. The midday sun is the wrong atmosphere for something this abrasive. However, for those that appreciate experimental music, Liars are provocative and intriguing live. Using African rhythms and high-pitched vocals, lines like “Why’d you shoot the man with the gun?” play as more exciting than esoteric.
