Coachella 2009 – Cage the Elephant

Some fans complain Coachella in general (minus notable exceptions such as Rage Against the Machine, Scars on Broadway or Mindless Self Indulgence) has veered away from hard rock. Fans of hard rock will be pleased with Cage the Elephant. Best described as 70s thrash like The Hellacopters or The Datsuns, the youthful and exuberant five piece stomped through “Free Love” and “Sabretooth Tiger,” ending their set with the singer triumphantly crowd surfing on top of the crowd almost to the back of the Mojave Tent while the band let feedback ring out.
