Brooklyn based Golden Triangle slayed their competition at the inaugural Battle of the Bands competition during SXSW. The celebrity judge panel had a tough decision to make between the 8 bands competing at the Compound in Austin on the afternoon of March 20, but ultimately it was Golden Triangle that reigned supreme.
GZA, No Age, and Brooklyn Vegan were all unanimous in their decision to award Golden Triangle the $10k grand prize – Bay Area’s Ferocious few was awarded second place with a $3,000 Dickies shopping spree, while Facts on File from LA followed in a close third place for the $2,000 shopping spree.
Over 1000 people attended the Dickies Battle and had the pleasure of witnessing the spontaneous collaboration for the first time between GZA and Atlanta’s Black Lips.
