Universal Music Publishing Group has become the exclusive administrator of the Jimi Hendrix catalog throughout the world, excluding the United States. Universal will be replacing Sony/ATV Music Publishing in all Hendrix International commercial opportunities. The U.S publishing rights will continue to be handled by Experience Hendrix, the Seattle based company established by Jimi’s late father and now headed by his sister Janie. Experience Hendrix is planning two new releases including a performance at London’s Royal Albert Hall which features exclusive backstage footage. Janie Hendrix, the President and CEO of Experience Hendrix has stated that all future releases will “uphold the standard of the music.â€
Universal owns Hendrix outside of the U.S
