Smashing Pumpkins drummer and original band member, Jimmy Chamberlain, has quit, according to a statement released on the bands website. Billy Corgan will continue to record and perform as the Smashing Pumpkins, despite being the only original SP member left. The band has been showing signs of tension at some of their most recent shows, including an incident where Corgan antagonized audiences during a two show stint in New York.Chamberlain joined the band in Chicago in 1988 and has played on every Smashing Pumpkins album except Adore.
