With the Coachella Line-up Revealed, How Will it Punch the Wallets of Consumers?

Prior to Coachella’s line-up being revealed, anticipation levels were high enough to bring fans to speculate the ridiculously impossible as well as go to great lengths for hints, confirmations and answers. From keeping track of every buzzworthy band’s myspace page, to calling publicists and even chief organizers at home, those most dedicated to this desert festival left no stone unturned and no rumor – be it the reunion of Led Zeppelin, Pavement or the resurrection of John Lennon – seemed too crazy.

Then the line-up arrived, with Paul McCartney, Morrissey, The Cure, My Bloody Valentine, Franz Ferdinand, The Killers, Amy Winehouse and Thievery Corporation with headlining spots. The supporting cast includes, TV on the Radio, Fleet Foxes, The Bug, Los Campesinos! and many, many more.

So, how much will this year’s installment cost the consumer in the midst of this credit crunch? Here’s the breakdown:

Three-day weekend passes are $269.00 +$3 charity + $9 facility fee ($1 charity/$3 facility fee per day) and single day tickets are $99.00 +$1 charity + $3 facility fee. This year, the folks at Goldenvoice will implement a layaway plan (Just like they did successfully for Stagecoach) for weekend passes only. Available up until February 28, the layaway options are 50% down: this payment option allows purchasers to pay a 50% deposit of the total order now, with the remaining 50% automatically deducted April 1; 3-payment plan: purchasers initially pay 10% of the total order, with the remaining amounts automatically deducted in equal payments on March 1 and April 1.
