The breezy, whimsical, storytelling of the Portland-formed Decemberists will again see daylight this Spring. A March 24 release date is planned for the band’s fifth full-length studio record, titled, Hazards of Love.
The record’s 17 track narrative supposedly surrounds the trials of a Margaret, William, the queen of a spooky forest and an interfering rake.
Guests on the album include My Morning Jacket’s Jim James, Robyn Hitchcock, the Spinanes’ Rebecca Gates, Lavendar Diamond’s Becky Stark and My Brightest Diamond’s Shara Worden.
Hazards of Love is the follow-up to the band’s major-label debut, 2006’s The Crane Wife.
