Travis Barker and DJ AM Critically Injured in Plane Crash

A few hours after performing a show in Columbia, South Carolina for 10,000 people under the band name TRVSDJ-AM, the plane both Travis Barker and DJ AM (Adam Goldstein) crashed on the runway on the way to Van Nuys, California, leaving four dead.

Soon after the plane started down the runway, it is reported that there were sparks coming from the plane- it is unknown if they were coming from the engines or the actual aircraft. The aircraft blew past the end of the runway and into the antenna array, numerous lights, and the perimeter fence at the end of the runway. When it reached the roadway on the other side, the plane was in flames.

An onlooker saw two bodies thrown onto the highway that were attempting to remove their clothing to put out the fire. Civilians, fire, and emergency staff attempted to save the remaining four people inside the aircraft, but there was nothing to be done.

The pilot, Sarah Lemmon, 31, of Anaheim Hills, CA, and co-pilot James Bland, 52, of Carlsbad, CA perished as did Chris Baker, 29, of Studio City, CA (Barker’s assistant), and Charles Still, 25, of Los Angeles, CA (Barker’s security detail).

Barker and Goldstein remain in critical condition at a burn center in Augusta, Georgia.http://hosted.ap.org/dynamic/stories/L/LEARJET_CRASH?SITE=WCNC&SECTION=HOME&TEMPLATE=DEFAULT, http://edition.cnn.com/2008/SHOWBIZ/Music/09/20/barker.plane.crash/?imw=Y&iref=mpstoryemail
